STELLARATOR Research & Development

Stellarators comprise a class of toroidal magnetic confinement systems that use three-dimensional plasma shaping. They have unique capabilities for fusion energy science research and potential for fusion energy systems.

The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fusion Energy Sciences, sponsors a vibrant program of stellarator research, including several experimental projects, theory, and international collaboration.

This site is designed to inform interested researchers about current developments, events, and future plans for U.S. stellarator research, and to provide a forum for exchange of information on these subjects.
